Maltz Museum Announces Children’s Book Launch Event

Helping Young Audiences Connect to the Special Exhibit through Literature
Meet Local Author & Illustrator of Ari & Abigail’s Passport to Israel, Sun March 3

CLEVELAND, OHIO, UNITED STATES, February 25, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage is proud to announce the release of a new children’s book entitled 'Ari & Abigail’s Passport to Israel', written by local author Dahlia Fisher, illustrated by Cleveland native Amy Jindra, and published by ATBOSH Media Ltd. The free event is open to the public and will be held Sunday, March 3 from 1:30PM to 3:00PM at the Maltz Museum (2929 Richmond Rd, Beachwood). For more information or to register call 216-593-0575 or visit maltzmuseum.org.

“Ari & Abigail's Passport to Israel was originally created to help guide young families through the Maltz Museum's special exhibit, Israel: Then & Now, as a reflection of the learning we do when we travel. We meet new people, see new places, try new foods, and discover connections between ourselves and others,” notes the author at the end of the book.

Audiences have been enjoying an interactive version of the new children’s book since the world premiere of the Israel: Then & Now special exhibit. The book has been turned into a Story Walk in which panels from the book plus hands-on activities pair to help make the exhibit accessible to children. Children are even invited to pick up toy binoculars for happy exploring and take them home to make every day an adventure.

Recently kindergarten and first grade students from Mandel Jewish Day School visited the exhibition to hear author and Museum staffer, Dahlia Fisher, read "Ari & Abigail’s Passport to Israel" as they walked through the gallery together. The students were so excited about their experience many came back with their parents the following week to explore further on their own.

Mandel Jewish Day School Marketing Director, Abigail Silverman, said, “We are delighted to partner with the Maltz Museum and share the book 'Ari & Abigail’s Passport to Israel' with our students. This experience adds another layer to their learning about Israel. Our students returned from the field trip excited to go back to the Museum, which tells us they had a great time!”

'Ari & Abigail’s Passport to Israel' book launch event promises to be an equally great time for guests who can enjoy a book reading and signing, participate in crafts for kids, have a caricature artist draw their picture, and go on the interactive Story Walk, plus sample some Israeli-style snacks.

Jared Bendis, Founder of ATBOSH Media Ltd who published the book said, “We are proud to partner with the Maltz Museum to deliver this children’s book not just to the Cleveland community but to enable worldwide distribution.”

'Ari & Abigail’s Passport to Israel' is available for purchase on Amazon.com, and Barnes & Noble online, as well as the Maltz Museum store. The soft cover book retails for $11.99.

The book launch event is generously supported by community partners: Ashne Chesed Fairmount Temple, B'nai Jeshurun Congregation, Gross Schechter Day School, Macaroni Kid, Mandel Jewish Day School, Park Preschool, The Temple-Tifereth Israel Early Learning Center, and media partner, Cleveland Jewish News.

Deb Avara of AE Money Quests to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

AMARILLO, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, February 25, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — It's still taboo to talk about money. People don't want to talk about it, but we need to talk about it, because we have a big problem.

Did you know the vast majority of young people—22 and younger—have no idea how to write a check? Did you know the average student loan debt is $37,000? Did you know the average college student one year into college holds between $1,000 and $5,000 in credit card debt?

Financial literacy isn’t taught in schools; only 17 states require high school students to learn personal finance. Most young people learn it from their parents, who did the best they could.

“We have completely dropped the ball,” says Deb Avara, founder of AE Money Quests. “I teach college and I'm getting students with zero knowledge. That has got to change.”

Unfortunately, when it comes to the idea of financial literacy and money management, everyone is afraid of what they don't know. AE Money Quests specializes in providing basic financial literacy education.

“I am all about basic financial literacy,” says Avara. “My quest is to teach as many people as I can how basic financial literacy and simple money management works: the stuff we need to know on a daily basis that we do not know.”

Avara says the thing her students struggle with most is budgeting.

“Without budgeting you probably have no savings.” says Avara, “You need to know where your money's going. People are not aware. They put cash in their pocket and suddenly, it's gone. To find out where your money is going, every penny you spend, write it down. This will start an awareness of what you do with your money. Savings needs to be part of the budget! If you find you don't have enough to pay your bills, then you need to cut something out. You can’t just whip out a credit card every time you're a little short.”

“Ultimately it’s about value,” says Avara. “You start with your necessities, food, clothing, shelter. Do you value not being in debt up to your neck? Do you value that you have health insurance and can pay to go to the doctor? Do you value having emergency savings? Or do you want new clothes every week and an expensive car? It comes down to what is valuable to you. But it's still about financial literacy education so they can make these choices based on solid information.”

Avara is the author of Just the Basics, Please, for college students, now in its fourth edition.

“No big words,” laughs Avara, “You can read my book and do the assignment in six hours and get more in those six hours than you did in your entire 12 years of education.”

CUTV News Radio will feature Deb Avara in an interview with Doug Llewelyn on February 27th at 2pm EST.

Barbara J. Hopkinson of A Butterfly’s Journey to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

NEWBURYPORT, MASSACHUSETTS, UNITED STATES, February 25, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Everybody is unique in their grief. When you've lost someone close to you, things may never be the same again, but you can find resilience, you can be happy again.

Barbara J. Hopkinson is a certified Grief Recovery Specialist, founder of A Butterfly’s Journey as well as creator of Faces of Resilience. A Butterfly’s Journey’s mission is to help individuals and families struggling with acute grief to find resilience after loss as well as to encourage open expression of grief, loss and love. “I instinctively knew that helping others would help me heal,” says Hopkinson.

“What I do is to provide resources and action-based tools to people who have suffered loss, to help them heal and express their emotions,” says Hopkinson. “Our culture does not talk very much about grief but talking about it helps us to heal from it.

A Butterfly’s Journey offers a free online broad-based Resource Center for grievers, group or one-on-one Grief Recovery Method (GRM) classes and Faces of Resilience (™) photo shoots at events. The GRM program is an evidence-informed, practice-based program that has been shown to effectively influence components of grief and grief recovery, proven for more than 40 years on six continents. Faces of Resilience are emotionally cathartic photos of the bereaved to raise awareness of the need for open discussion on the difficult topic of grief. Participants are photographed expressing a phrase meaningful to them, written on their skin with washable marker. They later receive their digital photos, which can be printed and often become a catalyst to discuss their grief with family and friends. An online video by Mitch Carmody of Heartlight Studios, showcasing these is at http://bit.ly/ABJ-FOR and there is a photo gallery at http://facesofresilience.org

Hopkinson’s first book A Butterfly's Journey: Healing Grief After the Loss of a Child is about the loss of her 21-year-old son, Brent, and the spiritual journey his death sent her on. It also references her loss of two babies earlier and what she feels, after ten years, were the three most important things which helped her heal. Her second book was a collaborative, an Amazon e-book best seller, FAITH – Finding Answers In the Heart – Volume II. Since then, she has co-authored multiple books from the Grief Diaries anthology series. A new photo book Grief Diaries – Faces of Resilience is being released this summer.

Why does the name include the word Butterfly? “Butterflies are an international symbol of transition,” says Hopkinson. “In my mind, for lost loved ones, it is a transition from a physical to a spiritual life. For grievers, it is a transition from a life with those loved ones, to a life without them.”

Barbara does this work as a tribute to the memory of her loved ones; she is a widow in addition to losing three children.

CUTV News Radio will feature Barbara J. Hopkinson in an interview with Jim Masters on February 27th at 12pm EST.

Listen to the show on BlogTalkRadio.

NASA Brings Out The Lost Reports Of Hector R. Rojas, As Reported By Dr. Roja's Biographer

The reports contain the calculations to land on the Moon that guaranteed the safety of the astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission.

WASHINGTON, D.C., UNITED STATES, February 22, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — The reports contain the calculations to land on the Moon that guaranteed the safety of the astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission and the success of the first manned lunar landing on Sunday, July 20, 1969.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has published recently inside the Server of its Scientific and Technical Information Program, the first three studies conducted by the Venezuelan astrophysicist Hector R. Rojas, between August 1966 and February 1967, as part of his job in the Apollo Lunar Program. These scientific studies contain the calculations for the landing of the Apollo 11 mission on the surface of the Moon. This year will be the 50th commemoration of this historical milestone, which was the arrival of the human being to the Moon on July 20, 1969.

The biographer of Dr. Hector R. Rojas, astrophysicist for the University of Paris, has been the manager of spreading the news. The Spanish-Venezuelan professor and writer Pierre Monteagudo explained that he had previously received a communication from the technical and scientific management office of NASA, indicating that once the documentation issued by the Johnson Space Center, of Houston, Texas, was obtained, they proceeded they proceeded to publish the three studies written by Dr. Rojas in the Technical Report Server, which are available to the public from Wednesday, February 20, 2019. The NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) contains all the scientific studies created or sponsored by NASA since 1958, but interestingly, the reports prepared by Hector R. Rojas were missing. They have had to spend more than 50 years so that finally, the full text of the three documents is now available in pdf format that can be viewed and downloaded by any interested person.

The first report published on December 1st, 1966, is the mathematical technique created by the astrophysicist Hector R. Rojas and contains a series of spatial coefficients that helped him collect data from the surface of the Moon that he later used to calculate, with mathematical precision, the optimal lunar area for the landing of manned ships. Through the successive transformations of his own method, Dr. Rojas was able to determine the temperature that the astronauts would find in the equatorial region of the Moon, when they disembarked on its surface. The scientist used extrapolation to obtain a temperature distribution, known in NASA as “Contours of Rojas” which is expressed in the second report, published on February 1th, 1967. In this way, he was able to demonstrate that the surface temperature of the satellite was related to the lunar topography, since there were different readings in craters, hillsides and plains. This is how Dr. Rojas prepared a map of the topography and relief of the Moon much more accurately than that obtained only with images. In the third report, published in July 1967, the astrophysicist presented a detailed analysis of the composition of the Moon and the amount of sunlight reflected by the lunar surface, based on observations made from Earth and the analysis of the images taken by the automated space probes of the Surveyor and Lunar Orbiter series, which orbited the Moon, before sending the manned missions. The three NASA studies were originally published by the Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC) in Houston, Texas.

The set of investigations that were carried out allowed Hector R. Rojas to study in detail the areas of the lunar surface, with less roughness, where the Apollo missions finally landed.

Other studies of this author to NASA that are pending publication in the Server of Technical and Scientific Reports are:

•Report 4, published in 1968, with the title: Third Application of the Successive Transformation Method. For the analysis of the Surveyor and Lunar Orbiter photographs, written by Hector R. Rojas, Ph. D., for NASA – Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC). Due to its enormous importance, this study was translated into French and sent to scientists and institutions in France by the United States Senate Committee on Aeronautical and Space Sciences.

•Study of the Radiation of Microwaves in the Atmosphere of Venus, published by NASA, in 1968, from the work done by Dr. Rojas, at the Institute of Technological Research of Illinois, in Chicago.

All the work done for years by Pierre Monteagudo, to achieve the recognition of Hector R. Rojas as the author of NASA reports, is part of a process of global claim of the genius and figure of the astrophysicist and constitutes a tribute to his posthumous memory, which consolidates with the recovery of its scientific legacy, through the publications made by NASA. All the available information about this scientist can be read in the book, "The Rojas File".

“Safe City, Safe Neighborhood” Initiative Creates a Safe City for All

Volunteers going door-to-door distributing The Way to Happiness booklets in Clearwater.

We will continue going neighborhood-to-neighborhood with the goal of a helping residents feel safe in their homes and children are able to play in the parks without concern to their safety.”

— Tanja Cranton, ED of TWTH Association of Tampa Bay

CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, US, February 21, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — On February 2nd, 2019 volunteers from the Way to Happiness Association Tampa Bay went door-to-door in Clearwater’s Gateway neighborhood, informing residents of the initiative to make Clearwater the safest city in the US by distributing a booklet called The Way to Happiness, a non-religious moral code written by L. Ron Hubbard.

In The Way to Happiness, L. Ron Hubbard wrote, “Unless one can have confidence in the reliability of those about one, he himself is at risk. When those he counts upon let him down, his own life can become disordered and even his own survival can be put at risk. Mutual trust is the firmest building block in human relationships. Without it, the whole structure comes down.”

According to city-data.com, Clearwater’s crime index is currently 20% higher than the US average. With this in mind, The Way to Happiness Association Tampa Bay volunteers have been distributing the booklets to homes in beleaguered neighborhoods in order to increase mutual trust between residents and reduce crime.

Ms. Tanja Cranton, Executive Director of The Way to Happiness Association Tampa Bay said, “We will continue going neighborhood-to-neighborhood with the goal of a helping residents feel safe in their homes and children are able to play in the parks without concern to their safety.”

Results using The Way to Happiness have been seen nationally, such as in Los Angeles. A Community Advocate from that LA neighborhood said, “We’ve had a very good response from people in our community since distributing The Way to Happiness. At our local building project there were a lot of problems between tenants, disputes, lack of respect and a LOT of crime. The building manager gave books out at the monthly tenant meeting. As a result she noticed a significant change—and the crime rate was going down too.”

For more information about the program or how to obtain materials for your community please visit The Way to Happiness Community Center on 33 N. Fort Harrison Ave, Clearwater FL 33755, or call: (727) 467 6961. The Center is open daily from 10am – 10pm. The Way to Happiness Association Tampa Bay is sponsored by the Church of Scientology.

The Way to Happiness Association Tampa Bay

The Way to Happiness booklet, written by L. Ron Hubbard, is available in 115 languages, with some 115 million copies distributed in 186 nations. The campaign to distribute the book has been embraced by more than 257,000 groups and individuals. The booklet holds the Guinness World Record as the single most-translated nonreligious book and fills the moral vacuum in an increasingly materialistic society.

Author and Reverend Donna Andes to be Featured on CUTV News Radio

THOMAS, WEST VIRGINIA, UNITED STATES, February 21, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — Donna Andes says that from a very young age, the Lord was always drawing her closer to walk with Him. She was a Franciscan Sister who lived in a convent for 21 years, and they sent her to get a degree in Nursing. She is also a Reverend and Doctor of Philosophy and Theology (whose desire to know the Bible better brought her to Life Christian University.) She has tended to sick and elderly people, as an Operating Room Supervisor and at the Mountaintop Home Health Agency in Thomas, West Virginia. She worked with alcoholics and later as missionary, spending time in Africa and Cuba. There is no such thing as retirement for a Christian, she says, and she will never stop doing the Lord’s Work.

Donna is listed in Who’s Who and received the Elbert Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. She is also a longtime member of Aglow International (that’s a-glow, as in glowing in His Light) and during the 50 years was president of a local chapter. She wrote her second book I Would Do it All Again, as an autobiography, but notes it is a great reference book for those having difficulties in marriage. A lot of problems, Donna believes, can be solved with God intercepting.

In her radio show Donna wants to talk about why she wrote her first book Know Thy Enemy. She will explain why it is so important to be aware of the spiritual realm around us. All the turmoil in the world can be addressed once we realize there is a devil, where he came from, the influence he has, and he is going around the world seeking whom and what he can devour. She wants to educate people by explaining how God created everything, and how they can improve their life and situation through prayer. This hinges on why she left the convent.

Donna preaches locally, conducts prayer meetings, and writes She is constantly writing to those in leadership positions, from the President to local government leaders. One day a week she answers the hotline for "Hope Marriage Center" through Christ in Action. Besides that, she is a part-time Network Marketer with Life Vantage that specializes in nutrigenomics. That word refers to nutrition and the body's genes to prevent aging and disease. The products are a new discovery and all-natural. The medical community is just catching on to what NRF1 and NRF2 are. The latter upgrades our cells to what they did back when we were born!

Donna wants to share how prayer can change us, our environment and even nations. To do that, she says, we need God's power. It begins when we invite Jesus into our heart, surrender our life to Him, and then ask to receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit. This enables us to pray with God's power and authority.

Don’t miss this inspiring speaker!
