African-American Author Releases a Book to Assist Parents in Starting the Conversation on Racism and Police Brutality

The Talk: A Black Family’s Conversation about Racism and Police Brutality, by Ama Karikari-Yawson, Esq.

FREEPORT, NY, UNITED STATES, June 30, 2020 / — All over the country, parents are having the “the talk” with their kids about racism, stereotyping and police brutality in the wake of George Floyd’s killing and the various forms of protests that have ensued. Starting this conversation may feel overwhelming , especially as we are collectively stuck in the midst of two pandemics in the United States: COVID-19 and racism. Moreover, there has not been much practical guidance with respect to how to facilitate such a conversation about race. More tangible guidance is especially necessary as Americans balance working from home, home education, safety, health and the well-being of the nation.

Now, that guidance is here.

African-American mother, author, radio host, entrepreneur and educator, Ama Karikari-Yawson, Esq., recently released “The Talk: A Black Family’s Conversation about Racism and Police Brutality.” With this powerful and uplifting fictional story, Yawson hopes to bring to light the importance of a loving and open dialogue about race conversations with children, which is both educational and interactive.

"Even though I am a mom, author, attorney and diversity trainer, I could not bring myself to discuss the George Floyd killing by police immediately after it happened,” Yawson says. “The grief was too much for me. My steps became heavier as I struggled to personally process the senseless and racially motivated killings of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and Floyd in such a short period of time. Moreover, the horrendous Central Park incident in which a white woman falsely told police that a black male bird watcher named Christian Cooper was threatening her also left me sickened. I could not stop thinking about the degree to which me and my husband's lives are shaped by racism and stereotyping and the extent to which our precious children's lives will be shaped by those same negative forces. The only way that I felt that I could be empowered was to sit down quietly and write a story which could serve as a resource for black, and non-black, families to explain police brutality to their kids while offering potentially life- saving advice about what to do in an encounter with the police. I knew that the book had to also affirm African-American identity and achievement while exploring what we can do now to eliminate this societal problem. My prayer is that all families will read it and feel both informed and empowered.”

The book uses poetry to portray a fictional African-American couple’s “talk” with their two children about racism and police brutality after the children stumble upon their parents crying in the living room while watching news coverage of Floyd’s killing at the hands of police officers. The parents then take the opportunity to explain the issues of racism, stereotyping, police brutality and how to interact with the police, while affirming the children’s heritage and assuring them that they will achieve greatness despite the obstacles that they may face. The book also includes a curriculum with activities.
Although there is no “talk” that can completely prevent incidents of racism and prejudice for children, African-American parents and parents of all races still need to have these conversations with their children so that their children are aware of these challenges and are better prepared for these potential encounters. Now Yawson’s book is available in order to make that conversation easier and more empowering.

LAS VEGAS, NV, US, June 30, 2020 / — Reach out to a wide array of Educational Prospects for Online Classes, Traditional Classes, Students seeking Tuition Assistance, Students with Student Debt that need assistance are all now easily contacted through Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide Marketing. New website now providing a smorgasbord of student educational mailing lists.

A good education is one of the priorities of both parents and older students who are now looking at their tertiary education options. While a good education is not a guarantee of success, what it does allow is for many more doors of opportunity to open, giving graduates much better odds of choice and success in a variety of different careers.

However, students, and the educational apparatus that surrounds them, are also a very active, dynamic market. This is a demographic that is making some serious financial decisions about their life, often for the first time. They are making choices to exercise their financial independence and flex those muscles in ways that may make a difference for the rest of their lives. It is a highly specialized demographic, with concerns unlike any other, and to reach them effectively takes the help of experts like Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide Marketing.

The Origin Of Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide Marketing
Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide Marketing is proud to be a 100% American business that is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. After completing duties to protect the country, it was decided the next frontier was starting a business that helped other American companies. With a management roster that has over 50 years of combined experience in the marketing and promotion industries, Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide Marketing started its own path in its home city and state of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The company first entered the industry before the advent of integrated digital marketing, getting its start with traditional techniques such as direct mail lists. This gave Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide Marketing the crucial experience it needed to understand how vital up-to-date, relevant mailing lists can be for clients interested in growing their business. Eventually, the company became so successful it expanded its range of service, spreading throughout the entire continental United States, and then even Hawaii and Alaska. Today, Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide Marketing serves not just the whole USA, but also other countries like Mexico and even France in Europe.

The Educational Sector
There are a lot of components to the education sector, meaning that individual interests with potential students vary, as well as the different businesses, partners, vendors, products, and services that serve this sector. From students interested in retail electronics like smartphones and laptops optimized for student work to people researching which schools would best serve their career aspirations, there is a vast spectrum of different considerations for people in this demographic, and the groups and businesses that cater to them.
This presents many different opportunities for varied business interests, charities, volunteer organizations, and others to reach out to a vital demographic that is just coming into their own. However, reaching out to students and even other potential vendors in the education sector can be daunting. Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide Marketing can help with an assortment of lists.

Currency Is Always A Priority
One of the most critical factors in getting usable mailing lists for education is the currency of those names and addresses. After all, the average college student is out of school and in the workforce within 3-4 years, so, unlike a residential address, a listing that is five years old may no longer be relevant.
This is why Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide is committed to continually updating and collating education mailing lists. Enrollment in new schools happens every year, and with it, our commitment to refreshing our databases and ensuring that new student names are entered into it, as well as returning students. Even students who are only just beginning to research options for further education may be good candidates for certain marketing and promotional activities. When you come to Sprint Data Worldwide Solutions, you get lists for education leads that have carefully cultivated across a variety of different aspects including:

College Location
Some students will be looking at different schools based on the location, and this is valuable information for particular business interests. Getting information on which students are considering a school in a specific location opens up certain marketing and sales opportunities.

College Requirements
Other students will be looking at specific schools based on their grades or their interest of study. For businesses that are focused on art students, for example, getting a list of students interested in the arts can be lucrative. The same goes for students with a legal or medical interest.

Degree Counseling Or Tuition
Sometimes students require a bit of extra guidance or need to talk to someone familiar with educational requirements and institutions, even get a little help with studies. These services can be highly sought after, but only if students know where to go.

Career Placement & Career Counseling
Students may be young, but at the same time, they are expected to start making choices that will determine their future career track. Some students look for guidance on what those options should be or how best to apply their interests to an occupation. Lists of students looking for such advice can be very useful.

Continuing Education Requirements
Some students buck the trend and have been out of school for a while and wish to return, or are just now starting after years in the workforce. Continuing education students have their own needs and specific concerns that some businesses can benefit from providing.

Military Veterans Seeking Continued Education
Some people that have served in the military now have the opportunity, as veterans, to receive the education they deserve but might not have had the opportunity to enjoy. For businesses that want to help veterans make the most of their second chance at education, these lists can be invaluable.

We Can Help
If you’re interested in reaching out to people with an interest in education, and you’d like to do it through physical mail, email, or even other media, such as Text Messaging/SMS on phones, we can help you. Come to Sprint Data Solutions Worldwide, and you can gain access to a continually updated list with current students and different interests within the educational sector. Get a higher, more effective response rate for your efforts with more precise targeting.

LinkOptimizer helps reduce InDesign link size by eliminating excess image data

Zevrix Solutions releases LinkOptimizer 5.4.19, an update to company's workflow automation tool for InDesign that can reduce link size and convert images.

LinkOptimizer has become an essential part of our workflow. It saves hours of time, replacing links, resizing and batch processing. The app makes our projects so much easier to prep for the printer.”

— Peter Blossom of American Cruise Lines in Guilford, Connecticut

TORONTO, ON, CANADA, June 30, 2020 / — Zevrix Solutions today announces LinkOptimizer 5.4.19, a maintenance update to company's image processing automation tool for Adobe InDesign. LinkOptimizer liberates InDesign users from boring tedious tasks through automation of complex image manipulation processes that involve precise replacement of images after their editing in Photoshop.

The new version fixes a rare issue in which the clipping path applied to a link in InDesign wasn't preserved upon relinking the optimized image after processing. LinkOptimizer now re-applies the original clipping path settings automatically after importing the image. The update also detects certain problematic characters in InDesign file paths and prevents such documents from processing to avoid system errors along the way.

"LinkOptimizer has become an essential part of our workflow," says Peter Blossom of American Cruise Lines in Guilford, Connecticut. "It saves hours of time, replacing linked images, resizing and batch processing. LinkOptimizer makes our projects so much easier to prep for the printer."

LinkOptimizer works automatically with Photoshop to reduce InDesign link size, perform essential image editing and convert image formats. For example, with just a click of a button users can:

Optimize batches of InDesign files and books
-Scale and crop images to match their dimensions in InDesign
-Convert RGB images to CMYK
-Change their resolution to 300 dpi
-Resave PSD files as TIFF
-Run a Photoshop action on each image.

At the end of processing, LinkOptimizer reimports images to InDesign at 100% in their precise position. As a result, users can save gigabytes of disk space and hours of manual editing, accelerate document output and cut costs through faster processing.

Pricing and Availability:
LinkOptimizer can be purchased from Zevrix website for US$259.95 (Light version: $179.95) as well as from Adobe Exchange and authorized resellers. Trial is also available for download. The update is free for LinkOptimizer 5.x users and $130 to upgrade from previous versions. LinkOptimizer requires macOS 10.8-10.15 and Adobe InDesign / Photoshop CS5-2020.

Mac & Madi Children’s Stories light-hearted messages will teach everyone that twins are individuals even though they appear to be carbon copies of each other.

Linda, an identical twin, knows all too well about the bond and the challenges of being a twin. She was inspired to write twin books that are fun and focus on individuality.”

— Big Little Press

SAN JOSE, CA, UNITED STATES, June 29, 2020 / — Twins, Mac & Madi Children’s Stories light-hearted messages will teach everyone that twins are individuals even though they appear to be carbon copies of each other. Children’s book author Linda Herron releases Mac & Madi’s Vacation: About Identical Twins’ Exciting Trip to the Shore! She debuted these now beloved twin characters in early 2019 with her first in the series, Mac & Madi’s Surprise: A Very Different Twins Birthday!

In Mac and Madi’s latest adventure, Herron illustrates the connections that the twins form with people they encounter on their trip to the shore. These kinds of exchanges are a unique part of daily life for identical twins, as people see two individuals who appear to be a carbon copy of each other. As an identical twin herself, Herron is all too familiar with the sometimes silly questions that people tend to blurt out, so she uses this fun vacation adventure to feature the light-hearted message that twins are individuals. Rather than confining twins to roles that compel them to be identical in all aspects, she wants to inspire twins to grow individually, just like all other siblings. Readers will follow along as Mac and Madi navigate common twin questions while having fun at the shore.

Mac & Madi’s Vacation captivate readers as the girls navigate the sometimes-surprising obstacles in their lives as young identical twins. When Mac and Madi set out on their vacation journey, they meet a variety of friendly vacationers who are very curious and have lots of common twin questions for the two girls. Later, however, they also meet an older, wiser woman who is interested in each of them and their individual responses. This connection teaches the others how to communicate more thoughtfully with identical twins, and the girls’ responses are powerful, revealing, and expressive as each of them offers an exuberant answer that allows her own personality to shine.

The book has been reviewed by Barbara Klein, Ph.D., a psychologist who is known for her research on the development of twin identity. Klein observes, “I was so delighted to read about Mac and Madi’s summer vacation and how these twins handled all the questions from the vacationers about being twins. Outsiders or onlookers need to understand that these so-called innocent questions can be hurtful to twins who naturally measure themselves against each other already. Part of growing up as a twin involves developing your individuality and sense that it is good to be different from your twin."

For additional information about the Twins, Mac & Madi series, contact

About the author: Born and raised in Rhode Island, Linda Herron knows firsthand what it is like to grow up as an identical twin. In fact, the most wonderful part of her childhood was spending time with her best friend and twin sister.

Because Linda recognizes the unique bond—and the unique challenges—that being a twin entails, she was inspired to create a series of children’s stories about being an identical twin. Her latest book is Mac & Madi's Vacation: About Identical Twins Surprising Trip to the Shore!

When she isn’t writing children’s books, Linda spends much of her time writing business articles and blogs. As a Financial expert, she provides strategic advising that transforms businesses by boosting profitability. Her financial expertise has been featured on media outlets including American Express, LendingTree, and Daily Business News, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bryant University.

Today, Linda lives in California and enjoys the sunny, seventy-five-degree weather every day. Though her twin still lives in Rhode Island, they visit each other to spend time together.

The Eighth Round – Zeke Wilson's True Life Story

The Eighth Round Front Cover

Author Zeke Wilson

Zeke Wilson, Golden Glove Boxer, had his greatest fight not in the ring, but in the courtroom. He set the federal precedent for same race discrimination.

Zeke Wilson Knocks Out Same Race Discrimination in The Eighth Round!”

— Zeke Wilson

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES, June 29, 2020 / — One can say Zeke Wilson has been a fighter all his life. He was born in St. Helena Island, SC in 1957, the same year President Dwight Eisenhower passed the Civil Rights Act.

Ezekiel “Zeke” Wilson was the seventh of eighth children raised by a single mom, and so Zeke learned at a very young age that hard work and perseverance were two of the most important qualities needed to move forward in life.

Zeke played football for St. Helena Junior High School and Beaufort High School, and though he was proficient in the sport, he wanted more. He remembered watching a TV sports telecast, showing Joe Frazier about to fight Muhammad Ali at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Something then clicked for Zeke and instantly took an interest in boxing.

So he got to work. The next day he chopped down three trees for posts, dragged them home, set two in the ground and then tied the third across the top. Hanging from the top was a pair of old jeans filled with sand, and thus he created his homemade punching bag.

One day, a man saw Zeke jogging home from work. He stopped Zeke and asked him, “Zeke, what are you doing?” Zeke answered, “Just working out.” The man soon became Zeke’s first boxing manager.

After practicing and honing his skills, at 16 years old Zeke Wilson took on his first true opponent in a boxing match in Savannah, GA at the National Guard Armory. Zeke was matched with Golden Glove and State Boxing Champion. The night before the match, Zeke asked his momma, “What if I lose?” She encouraged him, saying, “As long as you do your best, you can't lose, God will give you what you need.”

When the time to fight came, Zeke knocked out his opponent in the first 10 seconds of the first round.

After graduating high school, Zeke moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He lived with his sister Frenisee, his Uncle Rufus and Aunt Jenna. Zeke was able to make it onto the Joe Frazier boxing team and spent time as his sparring partner.

Wilson’s book, The Eighth Round, is a true story based his life and the legal battle, which became known as Wilson V. McClure, that became the federal precedent for all legal findings of same race discrimination.

Under the Civil Rights Act of 1964 of the United States, it is illegal to discriminate against a person or persons because of the color of their skin, their national origin, or racial composition.

The story involves a common man who found himself faced with racial discrimination, specifically same race discrimination. It tells of his struggle and triumph, involving important and timely social issues raised through the misuse of authority by both black and white government officials.

Though these events happened years ago, they are very relevant today. The Eighth Round is the perfect book to read in this day and time as the fight for civil rights continues on.

Heidi Marja Norman

NORWAY, June 27, 2020 / — She Rises For Tomorrow is the latest project involving Heidi Marja Norman who has contributed to this collection of personal accounts featuring a range of global women who’ve took action to make their dreams a reality. This book features their stories of success and offers supportive wisdom and guidance for those wishing to do the same.

For years, Heidi has been helping ambitious women have breakthroughs and move towards their goals through her personal mentoring and coaching services. She is passionate about keeping her clients motivated through the difficult early stages of achieving their dreams. While her full appointment books speak for themselves, this latest venture is an expression of her wish to bring this support to a massive audience of women.

Soon to be available, She Rises For Tomorrow tackles the issues facing modern womanhood like the perils of a monotonous daily routine and the fear of becoming trapped in the 9 – 5 rat race. For those who dream of making their own rules, running their own business and achieving financial stability from home – help is at hand. With 16 unique takes on how fear and uncertainty has too long held women back in the professional world, these brave accounts offer hope and results.

Heidi has taken part in this collaboration ‘because I look at everything that I have been through… and I can use what I have learned to help other people – Helping other people has always been very central to me and it makes my heart smile!’ Heidi’s holistic approach to health and lifestyle will certainly make her account a unique one in this inspirational anthology.

The collective format of She Rises For Tomorrow perfectly compliments the spirit of this book – that female unity and the coming together of strong woman serves womankind everywhere. The ‘She Rises 16’ are declaring no woman is alone to approach these problems as long as there are other women lifting them up as they climb the ladder together.
