American Wild Horse Campaign (AWHC) spent time and money heaping praises upon Deb Haaland only to later discover they were totally wrong about her agenda.

If the current elimination of wild horses across America under Deb Haaland is what AWHC and Ms. Gann consider 'protecting wild horses', I would hate to see Haaland's idea of not 'protecting' them!”

— William E. Simpson II – Naturalist

YREKA, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, October 13, 2021 / — In an opinion article printed in the Santa Fe New Mexican on December 17th of 2020, Holly Gann, who is director of government relations for American Wild Horse Campaign (AWHC), was so busy heaping praises upon Deb Haaland for her supposed support for wild horses, Ms. Gann and AWHC totally missed the reality of Deb Haaland's agenda.

Having said that, and as a result of that misjudgement by AWHC of Deb Haaland's intentions, American wild horses are being devastated!

As a part of the praises that AWHC heaped upon Deb Haaland, Ms. Gann penned an Op-Ed article titled:

'Haaland’s work on wild horses sets an example'

"I applaud U.S. Rep. Deb Haaland for taking a stand to protect wild horses and supporting efforts in the U.S. House to humanely manage wild horse populations on the range where they belong."

It seems that AWHC was so caught up in the trend to seat minority entities into government positions, and were so enamored by Ms. Haaland's native American status and her illusion of supporting wild horses, that AWHC made some really big assumptions that are now soundly proven wrong!

The only applause I am hearing now is by the people who despise wild horses…

On December 17th 2020 I commented on that Op-Ed article by AWHC/Gann in the Santa Fe New Mexican, as follows:

"I disagree with Rep. Haaland's opinion on wild horse management. It's not consistent with the best science, nor is it consistent with allowing wildlife, in this case wild horses, to live free and without being harassed by human intervention.

Women seem particularly OK with using contraceptives on wildlife because many women have chosen to use it for themselves. However, *that* does not make it right, morally or ecologically, for use on wildlife. Women who choose to take a chemical have made an informed decision for themselves. They don't have the authority to make a decision for another sentient being!

I have authored published articles about PZP and other work-arounds being used and proposed for wild horses… here is just one:

The debate is flooded with the conjectures of people who truly know very little about the behavioral ecology of wild horses, beyond maybe seeing some captured wild horses and what they have read from third parties who themselves have scant empirical first-hand experience with free-roaming wild horses in a wilderness setting. Instead, we have lots of imperfect information, and much of that comes from brief field trip observations over a sandwich and a telephoto lens on a camera.

There is better information available, but, we have too many activists whose 'white noise' obscures genuine facts and a real solution. And we also have ask; what would wild horse activist orgs do if a real final solution that is best for wild horses was implemented? Would they have to find real jobs, instead of living off the donations of good-hearted donors? Do people here realize that some of the heads of wild horse activist orgs pay themselves like CEO's of large corporations? Well, they do… just go read their IRS-990 filings… and when you follow the money, sometimes what you find is not what you hoped for… So as we see, a genuine final solution for wild horses is NOT in the best interests of paid activists who make a very good living off the plight of wild horses… and if the truth be told, some of these people wouldn't want to lose their gravy train, no more so than the cattle industry people…
Wild horses don't require 'management' when there are located in a naturally operating ecosystem.

The posted comments here fail to realize the simple truth: mankind, not the horses, are the problem and mankind have created the problems that have unbalanced our ecosystems, including and especially on and around public lands and HMAs where the trophic cascades have been decimated in favor of livestock production and greed.

People who are interested in learning the truth about what needs to be done for wild horses, should start by reading this article:

And, this article about wild horses living in balance in a forest ecosystem in the mountains on the OR-CA border:

More information about an ecologically and economically sound final solution for wild horses and burros is found here:"

Department of Interior ('DOI') Director Deb Haaland's so-called 'protecting' wild horses:

Now as the new Director of the DOI, Deb Haaland is behind the orchestration and implementation of the final axe-stroke upon the neck of the very survival of American wild horses!

If the current extermination of wild horses across America under Deb Haaland is what AWHC and Ms. Gann consider 'protecting wild horses', I would hate to see Haaland's idea of not 'protecting' them!

This paradigm, where the big gold-plated non-profits arguably spend a lot of time and money kissing-up to politicians in order to keep themselves relevant in the media while trying to influence government management concepts by promoting PZP, which they posit as the path forward for managing wild horses, is one of the reasons why we see so much mismanagement of American wild horses.

I have in the past reached out to Suzanne Roy at AWHC and Neda DeMayo at Return To Freedom, asking them to reconsider their flawed beliefs and posits in regard to wild horses. They seemed unwilling to consider a solution that would truly end the range-war and the plight of American wild horses.

It is my belief that their refusal to support a genuine, naturally sustainable and holistic solution for the plight of American wild horses and burros is in part due to the fact that such a sustainable and cost-effective solution (Wild Horse Fire Brigade) would end the need for their donation-driven organizations.

The result of such a naturally sustainable solution is that; wild horses would finally get to live naturally, free of human meddling and most importantly 'wild' as Nature intended, and the people at the non-profits would then have to go find new jobs.

It also seems that according to law (IRS rules) 501-c-3 non-profits are prohibited from engaging in aggressive lobbying efforts, which requires a 501-c-4 non-profit standing. And given the amount of 'lobbying' that we see going-on by 501-c-3 non-profit wild horse activists these days, some may have crossed the line? And that in itself may be worth looking into?

According to the AWHC website: "AWHC is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is tax-deductible. Our tax identification number is 47-4016989."

From the IRS:

"In general, no organization may qualify for section 501(c)(3) status if a substantial part of its activities is attempting to influence legislation (commonly known as lobbying). A 501(c)(3) organization may engage in some lobbying, but too much lobbying activity risks loss of tax-exempt status."

After decades of these large non-profit activist organizations (not sanctuaries) meddling and spending tens of $-millions in donation dollars, we find that today, wild horses are worse-off than ever before! That is the only metric that counts! Good intentions are meaningless when it's results that are desperately needed.

And the non-profits who support and promote of the use of chemicals to drug wild horses and burros as so-called 'contraception' are aiding in an insidious disaster that is being inflicted upon the relatively few remaining wild mares on the public lands by these non-profits in concert with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

Read more about how some non-profits are harming American wild horses, arguably in violation of the intent and codification of the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act (Public Law 92-195);

Sail Away with the Original Digital Nomads in Holding Fast, a Memoir Launching on October 19th

New memoir, Holding Fast by Susan Cole, released by White Bird Publications on October 19, 2021

From Madison Avenue to Riding Out Hurricane Mitch in Guatemala: Reluctantly Leaving Everything Behind to Follow Her Husband's Dream, a Woman Finds Herself

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, UNITED STATES, October 13, 2021 / — Media Advisory

Susan Cole’s Holding Fast: A Memoir of Sailing, Love, and Loss will be published by White Bird Publications on October 19th, 2021. The Book Launch Party will be hosted by Blue Cypress Books in New Orleans on October 19th, 6:00-7:30 pm. Media invited.

It is Cole’s first book. She is in her 70s, and at work on her next book, proving that it is never too late to follow your dreams.

She met the man, John Russell, who would become her husband when they were in their twenties. He dreamed of sailing away. Cole dreamed of settling down. She had never sailed before.

Their first home was a romantic, leaky 1903 ferryboat. It sank.

When their daughter was seven, they left their quaint Connecticut farmhouse behind and sailed to the Caribbean. Cole’s journey took her from the glitzy world of Madison Avenue advertising to riding out Hurricane Mitch, the largest hurricane on record at the time, on a sailboat in Guatemala. She hadn’t wanted to go in the first place but ended up on a life-changing odyssey.

Years later, Cole’s life forever changed after John passed away, but the courage that she found when she stepped outside her comfort zone and sailed off stayed with her.

Susan Cole has lived on or around sailboats for more than thirty years. In between sails, she earned a B.A. at Barnard College, an M.A. at Columbia University, and for many years, ran a successful market research firm in New York. Her essays have appeared in literary journals and sailing magazines.

Cole was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She has lived in New York, Connecticut, Florida, and Mexico; and now lives in New Orleans with her cat.

“A wife follows her husband to sea and finds herself along the way in this memoir… A perfect, realistic counterpart to Amity Gaige’s Sea Wife (2020), Cole’s moving memoir is emotionally astute… Vivid characterizations… The author’s voice is so assured…” —Kirkus Reviews

“Most cruising yarns are written by men, for men… ‘Holding Fast.’ is a lyrical tale of a young woman (and mother) learning the ropes—of her floating home, her marriage, and life itself.”—Cap’n Fatty Goodlander of Cruising World magazine

“Thoroughly absorbing… Vivid story of survival and adaptation that operates on many different levels, promising to attract not just readers of true-life adventure, but those who want stories of endurance and moving forward…Enlightening, moving.”—D. Donovan, Senior Reviewer, Midwest Book Review

About Dick Kramer
I was born in 1938 in the city of Newark, New Jersey. The early years of my life were spent in the small New Jersey town of Nutley. I was never a good student, I spent too much time drawing. It caused a lot of trouble for me and my family during my school years. I was constantly in trouble for not doing my work. I was too busy drawing.

I left High School on my 17th birthday and joined the Navy. It was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I realized the terrible mistake I had made with my life and finished my education in the Navy.

After four years I was honorably discharged and returned to Nutley where I asked Ginny, the love of my life, to marry me. Thank God, she said yes. We have been married for 52 years and she is still my girlfriend. I am a blessed man.

I began my art education at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art in Newark, New Jersey. I transferred to The School of Visual Arts in New York City and finished my art education there. After working for a chain store doing pen and ink illustrations for their advertising publications, I decided to free-lance. We had $78.00 in the bank, four kids and I quit my full time job. Ginny always believed in me even though it was a terrible time as far as money was concerned. She never complained or told me to get a real job; my father-in-law told me that. Ginny has always been behind me, no matter what was happening.

I then spent 8 years as Art Director for ITT Avionics Division, a defense contractor. I found out that I wasn’t meant to be in the “Corporate World” and went back to free-lancing. We moved to Florida, spent 8 years there and that’s where my entire life changed.

I met John Meyer. At that time he was the head of H&K Training Division. He approached me about doing a few drawings for a poster advertising their training facility in Sterling, Virginia. I said yes and produced seven vignette drawings for the poster. It was a series of SWAT Officers doing what they do so well. I didn’t think much of it. The check cleared and I forgot about H&K. When the poster was distributed world wide, the receptionist at H&K threatened to quit. The telephone lines lit up with SWAT Officers from around the world wanting to know who was doing these drawings and how could they get copies. That was the beginning of our fabulous life. We literally started at our kitchen table. I produced four sketches, the first of hundreds and hundreds to come. The rest is history. Ginny and I have been all over the world, from England to Germany to Abudabi and Dubai and all over our wonderful U.S.A. God has blessed us with a wonderful life filled with good friends in the SWAT Community and Corporate World. Half of our business is from our on-line sales of prints and half is from Corporate Commissions.

I never tire of drawing, especially the SWAT/Military world. Ginny and I admire and pray for all of the fabulous people we meet in our business. They are the brightest, bravest and best that our Nation has to offer. Our hearts break when a Police Officer or young Warrior dies in battle. We are all poorer for the loss of such wonderful young men and women. I feel honored to be so close to them and what they do. Every day they place their lives on the line so that we can enjoy the lives and freedoms we have. God bless each and every one of them and their families.

People ask when I will retire or stop drawing. I reply that I want to die at the drawing board. I love what I do and can’t imagine life without my art. I hope God will grant me many more years of drawing the people that Ginny and I love so much.

A Verbal Quilt Sewn Together by a Few Generations of Poets

“Pen Scratching Poets”

Poet and author Marilyn Wassmann’s book showcases poetry from her family

COOKSTOWN, NEW JERSEY, USA, October 13, 2021 / — Marilyn Wassmann pursued her passions for words and art works by weaving together her collection of the creative pursuits of her family and linking them to her Grandmother’s quilt of memorable poems. She is a poet from a family that produced a poet or an artist once in a while throughout their history in America. Their work can be found in Wassmann’s book entitled “Pen Scratching Poets: A Collection of One Family’s Creative Pursuits

Marilyn Benjamin Wassmann earned four degrees-two in art history, one in library science, and one in studio art, and before retiring, she worked as an art cataloger at the Library of Congress. She illustrated and contributed to the anthologies of the Greenbelt Writes Group. With her husband’s assistance, she published “What the Wind Blew In: 6 Stories to Read with Children,” which is a collection of poems designed to be read to, and with, children of all ages. “What the Wind Blew In,” “Pen Scratching Poets,” and her third book “The Opossum and The Cats” are all published by Writers’ Branding.

“Pen Scratching Poets,” initially published in 2016, is a showcase of poetry from the Benjamin side of the family (Wassmann’s maiden name is Benjamin). Readers will also be treated to many of Marilyn’s own poems and illustrations that she created throughout the years.

They will also get to read poetry by Wassmann’s relatives including poems by her father, her sister, and some of her nieces and nephews. And one of the highlights of this book are the poems of Marilyn’s grandmother, Ethel Tillotson Benjamin, which were taken from a little black book of poems given to Marilyn’s father. When Ethels’ life changed, so did America’s. She said her wedding vows just as the automobile and electric industries were sweeping the country, she watched two sons go to war, she saw the country sink into the Great Depression, and eventually she aged and notice her own hands grow gray and worn. Despite these changes, Ethel wanted to give her children advice for the future, and she was determined to find joy in her memories, her hopes, and her family.

Wrap yourself in the warm quilt of Ethel’s making and share it, as you read how it led to succeeding generations of poets, which Wassmann believes carry what is undoubtedly a “poetic mind” or a “poetic gene.” They have added to this verbal quilt by writing about everything, from their childhood cribs and carefully planted gardens to their cherished memories and heartbreaks. Marilyn’s grandmother lives on in her poems about faith, hope, advice for the future, and family love. Through the birth of the Internet, 9/11, and violent shootings, Marilyn found love, she watched her relatives grow and change, and along with the seasons, she has watched and endures her hands wrinkling, her collection of canes growing, and her reoccurring struggles with pain. But, like her grandmother, she has definitely found joy in her memories, her hopes, and her family!

Readers both young and old interested in honest expressions of affection and will enjoy “Pen Scratching Poets” contents, both for the simple and direct lines of poetry, and the vibrant sketches accompanying each one.

If you would like to immerse yourself in the creative mind of Marilyn Wassmann and some of the members of her family, head on to to grab a copy of one of her books. You may also visit her website at

EYES OF A MONSTER Debuts On Bestseller List

EYES OF A MONSTER – front cover

The True Story of a Cold Case Detective's Relentless Hunt for a Serial Killer in Hampton, Virginia — by Author Ron Peterson, Jr.

NEW YORK, NY, USA, October 13, 2021 / — EYES OF A MONSTER is the incredible true story of a cold case detective’s relentless pursuit of a serial killer in Hampton, Virginia. The book by bestselling true crime author Ron Peterson, Jr., debuted today on the Amazon bestseller list.

The book opens with never-revealed details of the 1981 cold case murder of beloved Hampton, Virginia schoolteacher Olivia Dare Christian. Despite an intense investigation, her murder went unsolved. Thirty years later, in 2011, next-generation Detective Randy Mayer opened Olivia’s dusty cold case file and became obsessed with unraveling the murder mystery that had stumped police for a generation. Buried in the file was an account from a young witness, sixteen years old back in 1981, who provided a description of a suspicious man she observed lurking outside Olivia’s apartment the morning of her murder. She also described the unique car he drove. Original investigators did not believe the teen-ager, but when Mayer managed to locate her three decades later, he found her to be credible. By then in her 40s, she told Mayer that the man’s face still haunted her. She swore that if he was found, she could identify him, and said: “He had the eyes of a monster.”

Olivia Christian’s killer had left behind few other clues or forensic evidence – no identifiable DNA – so Mayer was forced to rely on an old school approach. For two years, he researched old cases, searching microfilm to find an unsub with a similarly unique modus operandi. Finally, he found the man he believed was responsible; a serial rapist previously convicted of several brutal attacks on women in the area. The suspect, a Smithfield Foods employee and registered sex offender, was now in his 60s. Digging deeper into the man’s past, Mayer discovered evidence that also linked him to a half-dozen rapes and two other unsolved homicides – the 1972 murder of Helen Elizabeth Sturges on Hampton’s Chesapeake Avenue and the 1981 murder of Christopher Newport University student Linda Diane Sykes. Was he a serial killer?

Mayer brought this prime suspect in for questioning and the man denied any involvement in the murders, yet inadvertently said several things to implicate himself. But when Hampton's commonwealth’s attorney Anton Bell refused to press charges, Detective Mayer was at an impasse. Determined to bring the killer to justice, Mayer then enlisted the help of FBI agent Liza Ludovico (currently the FBI case agent on the Colonial Parkway Murders) and a special prosecutor from the state attorney general’s office, Phil Figura. Could the team bring the suspected serial killer to justice? Could the witness from over thirty years ago positively identify him? Would a jury of twelve vote to convict in a cold case based entirely on circumstantial evidence?

Author Ron Peterson, Jr. spent over a year researching the fascinating events around this four decade saga and interviewed over eighty sources, working closely with Detective Mayer to tell the incredible story. Peterson is also the author of UNDER THE TRESTLE, (2018), selected as one of the top 100 true crime books of all time and currently optioned as a documentary film with Mactavish Pictures. Peterson’s book CHASING THE SQUIRREL (2020) was also a bestseller and is currently in development as a streaming television series with Los Angeles-based Urban Legends Film Company.

EYES OF A MONSTER is available for purchase at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and wherever books are sold. Peterson, a sought-after speaker on the college lecture circuit, will be joined by Mayer at book tour events to promote EYES OF A MONSTER.

Aber was geschah danach in Bosnien-Hercegovina?
Signe Anita Fuchs, geb. Klein, Historikerin, akad.

Ramzi Najjar – The War Within You

Ramzi Najjar - Bestselling Author

Ramzi Najjar – Bestselling Author

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA, October 13, 2021 / — "Ramzi Najjar has spent most of his childhood in a time of war. Growing up amidst the Lebanese Civil war, he has witnessed all kinds of destruction, explosions, and bombings. The mayhem around him ended when he was 12. But the chaos within had just begun. He had remained stuck in comparing the chaos that ruled before, to the new calm that had prevailed.

He constantly kept wondering 'Why do people get so aggressive at times, and why are they friendly and living in peace at other times?' He'd attend school, but the subject where his interest lied was human psychology. He even started maintaining a journal to reflect on the way he felt. Years passed, he graduated college, completed his one year of mandatory military service, moved to Kuwait for better career opportunities. But, this one question 'Why do people act the way they do?' stayed with him throughout.

After moving to Kuwait, he got busy with building his team and companies. However, he would still make a point to journal down his thoughts. And, it was during the 2020 lockdown, when he decided to give shape to these thoughts.

From growing up in the immense stress of war to moving into a different country, starting from scratch and building 2 companies; he got to live and grow through various experiences and hardships of life. And the lockdown felt like the right time to put these learnings and experiences out to the world. So, in his first book The YOU Beyond you, he discusses the real secrets of life and how they operate within us and our environment.

Releasing his first book as a self-published author was itself a feat. But, the overwhelming responses and appreciations that came his way, in the form of positive reviews and awards was the cherry on top! So, during the second lockdown, he started writing his next book – The Ultimate Human Secrets. Yet again, he was showered with immense love for the book.

Growing up in a war zone, he could have never imagined even becoming a writer. Waking up to a day filled with reviews like 'I'm glad I read your book' 'Your book brought all the answers to my Who, What, When and Why's' still feels surreal. Indeed, it's not the war around but within ourselves that makes or breaks the YOU beyond you."

Samarth Joseph Offers the ‘It’s Not Over Yet’ Scholarship to Students Across the U.S.

Samarth Joseph

The SJ It’s Not Over Yet Scholarship Program is awarding $3,000 annually to students across the U.S. to help them achieve their educational goals.

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, October 13, 2021 / — The Chief Executive Officer of ESPOIR Youth Programs, Inc. has announced that the foundation will be awarding students in the U.S. $3,000 for educational purposes every year, starting June 2022.

The goal is to provide underprivileged students with equal opportunities and ensure their educational needs are met. The SJ It’s Not Over Scholarship Program provides students with direct funding and contribution if they reside in the U.S.
Students will be able to register from April 1st to May 25th every year. The program has strict policies and does not discriminate students based on their background, gender, and race.

“I know what it’s like to struggle to get recognized for your talent and skills. I understand the pain underprivileged students feel, being unable to afford education. I have been there. I have been in their shoes, which is why I want to provide the youth opportunities that I did not have growing up,” commented Samarth Joseph, the founder and CEO of ESPOIR Youth Programs, Inc., talking about how expensive educational institutes are and how she wants to help the future generation.

Before she founded ESPOIR Youth Programs, Inc., Joseph taught at various educational institutes and has earned awards for her dedication to educational sector. In addition, she is a published author. Her book, “It’s Not Over Yet!!” focuses on her struggles growing up in Haiti, moving to the U.S., and turning her life around.

“Nobody should be discriminated against based on their religion, race, gender, and financial background. Knowledge is power and there is nothing more powerful than a generation that is well-educated. ESPOIR means ‘hope’ in French and that is what I aim to do—ignite hope in the hearts of the youth so they can go on to achieve their dreams,” said Joseph, talking about the vision she has for the next generation, and how her program is helping students across the U.S.

The SJ Not Over Yet Scholarship application is available at the Westbury, NY; Wyandanch, NY and Bay Shore, NY.
There are two ways individuals can participate in the program. They can purchase twenty-two copies of Joseph’s book for a discounted price, or donate $500 a year for three consecutive school years. The donations will go to the scholarship program directly and will not be used elsewhere.
